- So @jscheuerman did an elephant for @fisherbrewing that was awesome and I sent him some @pokkapens pens to several months back. Of the 39 people I sent pens to and asked only for an elephant this is the best reply of the bunch. It's not even really close but I may post a couple of the runners up. I included how I've used Josh's elephant in the past and it's a good thing I don't pay royalties on my elephants because the #fisherbrewing elephant is royalAF. I'm already long on this write-up and this is I think my first mammoth if you're keeping track of the various kinds of stampies. Check out Josh's Instagram. - 🐘in last photo on this one from @hobanpress who I asked about some pricing on cards that I totally haven't given good details to quote. To add to their aggravation I started really thickly about the elephant thing, which Evan totally obliged with. Hoban is a commercial printer and I worked 15 year or so for a commercial printer, which makes stuff like this just always charming to see and I've seen an insane number of business cards from commercial printers, paper vendors and the print industry's various other vendors. His print is really solid and the cards are awesome. - Okay so I don't know how the internet works but @brian.goulet had a thing on @youtube and it was for @gouletpens for the #noodlerscharliepen which I love and own a lot of. @penaddict follows me and does actual review stuff, so follow him for something serious. I wrote some words in the Charlie and HOLY HELL HERE'S A LOT OF INDIAN PENS SO BUCKLE UP. After the Charlies are two Kanwrite Apex with @conway_stewart nibs in them and yes two 70¢ pens with these nibs are probably my favorite pens. Next are @noodlersink #ahab pens followed by @kanwrite_kanpurwriters Heritage (piston filler, sorry the demo is full of @jherbininks Emeril da Chauffeur) and some more Kanwrite. Another Kanwrite with a @pelikan_usa nib from a mid 1990s trainwreck that all the sections rotted and no other pen is compatible from Pelikan. Rounded off with some @asapens and a @ranga_pens mixed in. This is a ton of Indian kit and these are all great pens, even if they look odd. Friction fit Indian made feeds. - When I write for elephants I don’t necessarily expect a #picasso back, but it’s totally cool when they do! Jon of @portcitybrew had the task of drawing and produced a replica of a Picasso. Perhaps not like 100% the same value but functionally I’d say it’s 95% or better. - @hangar24brewing requires all elephants to complete a solo transatlantic flight in order to get free beers. As I've said numerous times elephants freeload booze and breweries come up with two tricks for elephants to pull to earn the beers. - So I won the @pokkapens contest for their 25,000th order through some creative use of store mechanics. Some would call it an exploit but either way I committed myself to winning before the prize was even announced. The prize turned out to not be any of the stuff I wanted and instead was 100 custom pens. - I provide a page with all my letters for people to draw me an elephant but strongly encourage providing your own paper. That does not work at all and most of my elephants are on provided paper. I try to provide the crappiest looking paper possible, but it's actually really nice @officedepot Stellar paper from Vietnam that can take more abuse than any ruled paper without going into those expensive engineering tablets. Being a graphic artist having worked with several designers I’d say that’s not uncommon. I’m not sure if they did the illustrations or picked out the lifestyle photography that was on the website years ago. Either way, that is an elephant and what appears to be a very small pig.
